The entrance to the pyramid is on the north face at a height of about 4 meters above ground level. As can be seen here the lower 7 courses were finished in red Aswan granite (originally 16 were laid). The granite was dressed only in the area around the entrance itself (and in some areas of the pyramid temple). This is were an hieroglyphic inscription can be found.
