The Stable Pyramid

The Meidum pyramid viewed from the northern mastabas. Mastaba no. 17 can be seen on the left. mastaba no.16, of Nefermaat and Itet is on the right of the image.

The southeast corner of the Meidum pyramid. The very large mound of debris is quite evident in the middle ground surrounding the pyramid. In fact the debris is the base of the once 'true' pyramid, is is not really debris at all. The desert covers the limestone blocks that make up this section. This is very clear when one examines the structure were the sand has been cleared away.

Several views of the Meidum Pyramid from the desert.

The Meidum pyramid with mastaba no. 17 viewed from just north of the pyramid. The extensive mound of debris is quite evident here.
